Terms of Use

Last updated: July 25, 2026

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the SpellingBeeWord.com website (the "Website") and the Spelling Bee Word iOS application (the "App") — together, the "Services." By using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian must agree to these Terms on your behalf.

Use of the Services

The Services provide spelling practice tools, word lists, and related educational content for personal, non-commercial use. You agree not to misuse the Services, including by attempting to access them by any means other than the interfaces we provide, interfering with their normal operation, or copying and redistributing our content at scale without permission.

Subscriptions and Purchases

The App offers optional premium features through auto-renewable subscriptions (monthly and annual) and a one-time lifetime purchase. All purchases are processed by Apple through your App Store account. Prices are shown in the App before purchase and may vary by region.

  • Auto-renewal. Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your App Store account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • Free trials. Where offered, a free trial converts to a paid subscription at the price shown in the App unless you cancel before the trial ends. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
  • Managing and canceling. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your device's Settings under your Apple Account > Subscriptions. Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription.
  • Refunds. Purchases are billed by Apple, and refunds are handled by Apple under its policies. You can request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Intellectual Property

The Services, including their design, text, graphics, word lists, and software, are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Services for personal, non-commercial purposes. Teachers may use our word lists in their own classrooms.

Educational Content Disclaimer

Our content is intended to support spelling practice and study. While we work to keep word lists, definitions, and example sentences accurate, we do not guarantee that the content is error-free or aligned with any particular curriculum or competition list.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The Services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted or error-free.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to your use of the Services. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Services will not exceed the amount you paid us for the Services in the twelve months preceding the claim.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Services if you violate these Terms. You may stop using the Services at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) will survive.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post the updated Terms on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
